How to compare grocery prices in Australia

Last updated 2 May 2026

Comparing prices across Woolworths, Coles and Aldi used to mean visiting multiple websites or driving to multiple stores. ShopHop tracks prices at all three chains every night and puts them in one place.

Step 1 — Search for the product

Type the product name into the search bar. Results show prices at all three chains side by side with the cheapest highlighted. Unit prices are shown on every card so you can compare different pack sizes fairly.

Step 2 — Check the price history

Click any product to see its full price history graph. This shows whether today’s price is high, low or typical compared to recent weeks.

Step 3 — Build a shopping list

Add products to a ShopHop list. The list calculates the total cost at each chain automatically so you can see which retailer is cheapest for your specific basket.

Step 4 — Scan in store

Use the ShopHop barcode scanner in the app to check prices on your phone while you shop. Point your camera at any product barcode to instantly see prices at all three chains.
