What about specials?
Both Woolworths and Coles run weekly promotional programmes. ShopHop’s fake special detection flags promotions where the claimed was price was not observed for a genuine period before the promotion. The ACCC standard requires a was price to be genuine for at least 28 of the last 90 days. A Federal Court applied this standard to Coles in May 2026 and found 245 Down Down discounts to be misleading.
